Ferrite makes it fast and easy to record and edit audio on the move – while making powerful features like effects and automation available when you need them.

Ferrite is the tool more and more podcasters and journalists reach for when they’re away from the studio.

Ferrite focuses on workflow, with features to speed you up and a clean UI designed to get out of your way.

Record

  • Record

  • Like a voice memo app, one tap and you’re recording. But Ferrite supports up to 8 mics1, high quality audio, and more. Monitor levels on-screen or through headphones, and bookmark spots that will need editing later.

Once your recording is complete, you can listen back to it at up to 2× speed, split microphone channels into separate files, and prepare your audio for editing.

1. Some features require Ferrite 3 Pro. Multichannel recording also requires a compatible audio interface.

Edit

  • Ferrite contains a full editing suite to assemble your recordings — and imported clips — into polished productions. Radio shows, podcasts, lecture recordings, audio presentations and more: all made easier with Ferrite tools such as silence removal and automatic ducking.

Enhance your audio with extras like EQ and dynamic compression. If you really want to get in and sweat the details, Ferrite has a powerful automation system, which can continuously adjust the sound of individual tracks or the final mix. Or sit back and let Ferrite save you time with Auto-Levelling.

Publish

  • Publish

  • When you’re done, you can add finishing touches like cover art or MP3 chapters, and export your projects as standard audio files like MP3, M4A or WAV, ready for uploading to your studio or podcast host.

Send your finished work via popular messaging or file storage services such as email, iCloud or Dropbox – Ferrite supports iOS Sharing Extensions, to make the widest range of services available.

Finally an intuitive multi-track audio editing application for iOS that is designed for journalists instead of musicians. Powerful yet simple enough for even me to figure out!

In a word, wow: This is the iOS multitrack editor that I’ve been waiting for. Ferrite has all the features that have made my podcast editing workflow so efficient

Jason Snell, Editor-in-Chief, Six Colors & The Incomparable

Ferrite is by far the most versatile app for radio broadcasters in the field, and believe me — I have tried a few. The multi-tracks, panning and ducking features will be a perfect companion for any reporter on the go.

John Inge Johansen, MoJo-trainer Norway

You can get things done super super lightning quick, and with the minimum of on-screen clutter […] It’s a professional tool that will save you time.

Andy Ihnatko, speaking on MacBreak Weekly

Ferrite is in my opinion the best audio editor on iOS […] it’s what a podcast editor should be […] editing is a dream

Alex Cox speaking on Mac Power Users #410

Another day, another podcast edited on my iPad Pro. Feel like this is the future

Jeff Benjamin, 9to5mac.com

It does exactly what I would hope for: provide tools that I can customize to my liking so each edit is a pleasant experience rather than a frustration. Developing a new creative skill is always a challenge, but it becomes a lot more manageable when you have the right tools at your disposal.

Ryan Christoffel, MacStories.net

As someone who no longer owns a computer and does everything through my iPad or iPhone, I’ve been looking for the perfect app to create and edit my podcast. I wanted something that has a sleek interface, easy to use but robust enough to create a professional sounding show. Ferrite is it! I couldn’t be happier.

Rachel Maskell, presenter & producer of the #mumboss podcast

I’ve been looking (and waiting) for a new, intuitive yet full-featured multi-track audio editing app for my field reporting, and Ferrite is it! With a few swipes, it give me the stable, user-friendly tool I need to cover news in Washington, D.C.

Neal Augenstein, reporter for WTOP, mobile journalism trainer

The app is a one-stop-shop for making podcasts […] If you are even slightly interested in Ferrite Recording Studio, you should check it out.

Charlie Sorrel, Cult of Mac

I am a volunteer in a foreign school, tasked with recording educational materials for a student with visual impairment. Ferrite provided tools for my work that I wasn’t able to find in other iPad apps. I can produce longer recordings; the editing tools allow me to clean up extraneous sounds; and I can insert corrections when I’ve made a mistake. And the customer support has been excellent!

Lana Thurston, Friend In Residence, Ramallah Friends School

I found Ferrite a joy to use, simple straightforward UI, very responsive and great effects, and like all the Wooji Juice apps, it’s solid and reliable, top job!
